In addition to overall company growth, we were awarded the 2022 FANUC Innovator of the Year Award for taking a FANUC robot from the factory to the highway to provide a safer and more efficient means of crack sealing.
We are looking for a motivated shop manager for our Glasstech Assembly Site located in Perrysburg, OH.
This position will involve assisting the plant’s general manager in working together with Pioneer employees on the floor, collaborating with Glasstech personnel to assure proper assembly, filling in where needed on the shop floor, implementing and recording Pioneer company safety protocol, shipping, receiving, inventory, loading trucks and training new hires.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing shop assembly of entire furnaces of various sizes
- Use Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Office products (25% of time the will be office type of responsibilities)
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to apply problem-solving skills and decision-making in a managerial manner
- Ability to keep projects on schedule and on budget
- Communicate with general manager and all departments
- Assure everyone is following company safety procedures
- Drive a forklift and utilize an overhead crane as needed
- Interpret mechanical and electrical assembly drawings and blueprints
- Possess personal and organizational skills and follow all company procedures
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and overtime on an as-needed basis, involving extra hours during the week, Saturday mornings, and occasionally Sundays and Holidays if necessary determined by the urgency of the project
Desired Education and Experience
- Experience in shop management
- Experience in machine assembly
- Experience in scheduling multiple projects and monitor project budgets
- Very high level of proven mechanical aptitude
- Experience reading blueprints and mechanical assembly drawings
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of measurements, weights, and calibrations needed for machine assembly
- Forklift experience and ability to train on forklift
- Understanding of proper safety protocols for manufacturing
