Shop Floor Manager

This role will supervise the shop floor in the assembly of custom equipment, working to ensure that quality work is completed on-time. Mentoring and teaching is a key part of this role, as is the ability to assist in multiple different areas as needed.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew of assemblers, assigning and checking work
  • Interpret mechanical assembly drawings in order to clearly communicate work instructions, check quality, or answer questions
  • Work with engineering as problems arise to find solutions
  • Monitor that everyone is following both safety and company procedures
  • Drive a forklift to help with loading or unloading trucks
  • Must have reliable transportation and own basic hand tools
  • Possess personal organizational skills, and the ability to help juggle multiple projects at once
  • Help to maintain a project schedule and upload hours to company systems
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and overtime on an as-needed basis

Desired Education and Experience

  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • Experience in a machine-building environment is preferred
  • Experience in a management or lead role is preferred
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Office products
